Australia- not for boys?

The movie Australia, starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, has gotten a horrible rap from the public. And I can hardly understand why. I LOVE the film. I even have it on DVD! So it makes me think, how could anyone possibly not like it? I mean Hugh Jackman is in it, looking better than ever! Maybe most of the people who do not like it are straight men, since all they get is Nicole Kidman? And I hate to sound like I'm bashing Nicole Kidman, she's a lovely actress, but she doesn't usually get the money in that box office, so I don't think she's a "dude magnet".
But then again, the reason I love this film is not just because of Hugh Jackman, absolutely not. The plot may be somewhat dull, about moving cattle around and trying to own land, its a bit/really weak. However, I'm a girl, I dig romance, and I loved Hugh and Nicole as a couple. That was one of the reasons I loved the film for sure. Especially near the end when they are reunited. That was so epic for me, I loved it! Then another factor is I find Australian accents to be very fun. The Australian accent is by far my favorite accent. And then you got little Nullah. That kid is adorable, from his accent, and his appearance, to his personality, and the boy who played him was a brilliant actor. I give him major kudos for his performance. Amazing.
Overall, the characters, the emotion of the film, the soundtrack, and the imagery of the film are what made it for me. Those four aspects of the film were flawless for me. So that makes me conclude that people either didn't like it because the plot wasn't that exciting, or because dudes just don't dig Nicole Kidman too much. Because I loved it, and I've watched it several times already.
Tell me what you think, and why you did/didn't like it, I'm interested, because honestly, all of the negative reviews I've read sound like whining and don't give me a solid, good, honest reason, as to why they do not like the film.
Peace Out!
